Life With A New Baby

Crazy should sum it up.
It's been interesting adjusting to life with two little ones. Aden has really been good around Heather. He hasn't acted jealous and has actually adjusted quite well. But I realized how "active" he is now. I had my first outing on Friday to the doctor's office with two. After the appointment Aden took off running and I had to set out after him, but it takes a little bit when your still trying to get the newborn dressed. So, the nurse had to fetch him back for me. Aden and I had a nice long talk about that, and he's been better about listening and staying closer to me. The dog is still trying to get used to a baby in the house. He's always following her around, and trying to give her "kisses". Also, he thinks he needs to be the center of attentoin now too. In fact, I think he's more jealous than the 3 year old. Nights have been pretty good baby wise. She hardly ever fusses except when her dinner isn't served right away. She wakes up about 3 times a night but for never longer than 20 minutes (she goes to sleep right after eating). Nathan had to leave town on Sunday for the death of a friend, so it's just been the three of us. I have a new appreciation for single mothers with two children. My mom, thankfully, has been coming over to help us out so it hasn't been too bad. But I'm sure life will get more interesting as Heather gets bigger!

Heather Paige Zito

She's finally here!
Heather Paige Zito was born on Monday at 6:00 p.m. in Billings. She was 7 lbs, 6 oz, and 20 inches long. She is very precious and has a full head of light brown hair and big dark eyes. She doesn't really look like either one of us yet but is still as cute as could be.
The pregnancy over all has been pretty good. It was hard sometimes with school rotations but we hung in there. I finished 3 weeks ago and it was nice to prepare for the baby. I went to the doctor last Thursday and he wanted to know if I would like to be induced on Monday. I've never really been for inductions but when your 9 months pregnant, you become a little desperate. He didn't really have a reason why, so I guess I became a member of the "elective induction" club. We headed to the hospital Monday morning about 7:00. At first, nothing really exciting happened but by 2:00 things were really starting to come into action. Things started to become more than I could handle so I had my epidural around 3:00 and by 5:00 was ready for "fun". I think it was at this point I learned a very valuable lesson, epidurals are not 100% effective. In fact, mine was almost completely gone by the time I was ready to push thus leading to the most painful ordeal I have ever been through in my life (even more than with Aden). Luckily, Nathan stayed with me through the whole time (even after many discussion over the last 9 months of him not being in the room). I was very thankful to also have my mother, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law help me too. After s short time, though it didn't feel like it, Heather was born.
Things have been pretty good so far. I've had to recover a little more this time than with Aden, but time heals all wounds. Heather's a cute little baby, and her dad is very fond of her too. I would definetly say that they have bonded. =) Everything else is going good, except for the sleep but that will come with time too. I love being a mom to a new baby and it's so exciting to start again. Hopefully now time will slow down. =)

New to the Club

Hello, I've never really been much of a blogger but since all the cool kids are doing it.....I've decided maybe it would be kinda fun. Hopefully this is one adventure I can keep up on. I'll keep this one short...I'm from Nebraska were I was born and raised. I've been in Billings for 6 years to go to school, and decided this was my home. I just finished my Master's degree for a Physician Assistant, so hopefully I learned enough to pass the certification board exam. I have a wonderful husband, Nathan, who is the greatest ever! We were married in August last year, and I think we are still in that honeymoon phase, even though we are expecting our 2nd child, a girl, anyday now!!! I also have the most "handsomest" little boy, Aden, who is 3. That pretty much wraps up my life in a few sentences. =)
